True to the statement “A sound mind rests in a sound body” our institution always encourages games and sports. It is on the playground that the students develop team spirit, honesty, co-operation, fair play and habits of health and hygiene

Perseverance and tenacity are often the foundational traits of SUCCESS, when these are combined with dedication and teamwork, the result is outstanding. Over five thousand students participated in the 2019-20 Inter School sports meet conducted by B.E.D, which is held every year and our students actively take part.

Our students put up a spectacular display of courage, hard work, skill with their brilliant participation. Sports and athletic have been an integral part of St. Alphonsus school curriculum and have always kept up the tradition. There was no difference, and this year too, St Alphonsus School had the opportunity to participate in this flamboyant spirited Inter School Sports meet 2019-20.

The inter sports meet conducted by B.E.D was for the selection for various levels as mentioned below.

1. Zone level

2. Taluk level

3. District level

4. State level

5. Ultimately, National level

In the zonal event our school took part in the track and field events, which included a number of disciplines such as 100mtrs, 200mtrs, 400mtrs and 600mtrs Relay for both boys and girls. All the track and field events saw zealous and tough competition by the participants.

In group events our school qualified for District level in Kho- Kho and Hammer Throw by their sheer hard work and courageous participation. Our schools March past was all about synchronization and team work and coordination as marching in a contingent demands, alertness and an unspoken co- ordination. Indeed our students marched in colorful School attire according to the House Colors - Red, Blue, Green and Yellow with their respective flags.

After performing the Drill with uniformity and strength, the participants were appreciated with medals and certificates. Winners earn points to their respective Houses, House which has accumulated more points are awarded with Rolli Shield by the school. Our Institute St. Alphonsus is aggressively preparing our students for the next Sports Meet and are confident of bringing many laurels of achievement to the Institute.
